One extra slice of baseboard stock is cut into three smaller shelves and affixed to the chair rail in strategic locations. These beer shelves will also hold keys, picks, tuners, and what have you. I'll install some coat racks just underneath, and even a couple of guitar hooks to the side. That's why the chair rail is screwed through the wall into the studs!
