Reshaping the Note

Sometimes the note is too badly out of tune to blend back, or has suffered some accidently damage or metal fatigue. Boots will often turn a pan upside down and reshape the area of the note to change the tensions entirely. Then he will work again from the top and bring the note back into tune with a few deft blows.
